## Intro

Floorplan modes let you focus on the task at hand, keeping the floorplan free of distractions. Each mode shows only the accessories that matter for what you're doing.

## Switch modes

1. Tap <MenuButton />
2. Select the mode you want: **Control** or **Security**.

When you add an accessory, the floorplan automatically switches to the appropriate mode.

## Control

Control mode shows all your controllable accessories - lights, thermostats, fans, blinds, on/off accessories, and more. This is the default mode for day-to-day use.

## Security

Security mode shows accessories related to safety and monitoring. You'll see controllable accessories like [Smart Door Locks](/accessories/door-lock) and [Garage Doors & Gates](/accessories/automatic-closure), as well as all your [Presence Sensors](/accessories/presence-sensor) and [Doors & Windows Sensors](/accessories/contact-sensor).
