Intro
Language & Region lets you pick the language Zendo is written in, and the units and formats it reads in.
How to change it
- Tap
- Tap “Settings”
- Tap “About Your Zendo”
- Tap “Language & Region”
- Tap the option you want in each list.
The setting is per device. Each device remembers its own choice, so the wall tablet can read in one language while your phone reads in another.
What you can set
Each list starts with an Automatic row, which lets Zendo decide instead of pinning a choice.
- Language: the language Zendo is written in. Each one is named in its own words, so you can find yours at a glance.
- Temperature: Celsius (ºC) or Fahrenheit (ºF).
- Measurement System: Metric for metres, kilometres, cubic metres and litres. UK for miles over distance but metric for volume. US for miles, feet and US gallons.
- Clock: 24-Hour Time for times written 00:00 to 23:59, or 12-Hour Time (AM/PM).
- First Day of Week: Monday or Sunday. This decides which day a calendar starts its rows on.
How Automatic works
Automatic doesn’t mean the same thing in every list, so it’s worth knowing which one you’re setting.
For Temperature, Measurement System, Clock and First Day of Week, Automatic follows this phone or tablet’s own settings. The row underneath names what that currently works out to, so you can see the answer before you decide whether to pin it.
For Language, Automatic is resolved by Zendo rather than read straight from the device.
Change the setting on the device rather than in Zendo when you want everything on it to match. Pin a choice in Zendo when you want Zendo alone to differ.
Restart Zendo after changing a device setting
Changes you make in Zendo take effect straight away. Changes you make in your device’s own settings don’t, so close Zendo completely and open it again.
This applies when you’re on Automatic and you change the temperature, units, clock or first day of the week on the device itself. Zendo reads those once when it starts, so until you restart it, the old setting stays on screen.
