A permanent device is any device that stays in one place, such as a wall‑mounted tablet or a device on a desk or counter. Please set it up so it behaves like a dedicated controller for your space (and doesn’t drift into other apps at the worst possible time).Enable Guided Access (iOS only)
Guided Access keeps the device locked to a single app. It’s perfect for a shared wall tablet.Turn on Guided Access
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Accessibility”
- Tap “Guided Access”
- Turn on “Guided Access”
- Tap “Passcode Settings” and set a passcode (recommended).
- (Optional) Turn on “Face ID” or “Touch ID” if you’d like a faster exit.
Start a Guided Access session for Zendo
- Open Zendo
- Triple‑click the Side button (or the Home button on older devices)
- Tap “Start”
End a Guided Access session
- Triple‑click the Side/Home button
- Enter your passcode (or authenticate with Face ID / Touch ID)
- Tap “End”

Zendo supports devices that stay in one place, such as a wall‑mounted tablet or a device on a desk or counter. The screen stays on so your floorplan is always visible, and it optionally automatically dims when not in use to save energy.Turn on Mounted Device
- Open Zendo
- Tap (Settings)
- Tap “About Your Zendo”
- Tap “Mounted Device”
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Settings
Mounted Device has the following settings:- Keep Screen Awake: When on, the screen stays on. When off, the screen turns off according to your system settings.
- Auto Dim Screen (optional): When on, the screen automatically dims when not in use to save energy.
- Brightness (%): The brightness of the screen when it’s active (not dimmed).
- Screen Timeout (minutes): How long to wait before dimming the screen down to 1%.
