Intro

Your Zendo app can have multiple rooms across up to four floors. Rename rooms to match your property and your spoken language.

Add, change or delete a floor

  1. Tap
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap “Add New Floor” to add a new floor, or tap the edit or delete option for the floorplan you’d like to change.
Deleting a floor also deletes all the accessories that have been linked to it. Proceed with caution.
If you change your mind, you have 48 hours to restore a deleted floor. After that, the floor is gone for good.

Draw your floorplan with AI

Already have a drawing of your property, or a floorplan from an estate agent? Upload it when you add a new floor and let Zendo do the drawing, instead of tracing every wall yourself.

  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap “Add New Floor”
  5. Upload your image and tap “Draw with AI”
Zendo draws the walls, doors and windows from your image. You then finish the design in the floorplan designer: add furniture, map your outdoor areas and adjust anything that isn’t quite right.
“Draw with AI” is only available while you’re adding a floor. You can change your existing floorplans manually in the floorplan designer.

Add, change or delete rooms

  1. Tap
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap on a room to edit or delete it, or tap “Add Room” to add a new room.
Open a room and “Accessories in This Room” lists everything linked to it, so you can see how the room is put together and go straight to anything you want to change. To check every room on a floor at once, for example after you’ve finished setting up a property, tap “Review Accessories” at the bottom of “Rooms & Floors”. See Setup Checklist.

Keep a room off the floorplan

A boiler room, a loft, a plant room or a utility cupboard holds accessories you want to control, but adding them to the floorplan only adds clutter.
  1. Tap
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap the room
  5. Deselect Show this room on the floorplan.
Nothing in the room appears on the floorplan from then on. Everything in it stays available in the Tiles view.
This setting is available when you edit a room, not when you add one. A new room is added by placing it on the floorplan, so hiding it is a later decision.For a room you never want shown, place it in a corner or an empty space where it’s out of the way, then tap the room to edit it and deselect Show this room on the floorplan.

Redesign your floorplan

Want to start fresh or reshape things? You can now change how a floorplan looks by using our floorplan designer. Change rooms, add furniture, adjust walls and more, all in one place.

  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap “Redesign” and use the designer to update your layout.

Back up and restore your floorplan

Before you make big changes to the design of your floorplan, save a copy of the design so you can go back to it if you change your mind.
  1. Tap
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  4. Tap “Redesign”
  5. Tap “Export” in the floorplan designer to save a copy of your floorplan design.
To restore that copy, open the floorplan designer the same way and tap “Import”.
The backup only stores the design of your floorplan: the rooms, walls and furniture. The accessories you’ve added to the floorplan aren’t included, so importing a backup won’t bring them back.
Link each Zendo room to the matching Home Assistant/Homey room/area. This helps Zendo understand what belongs in each room and powers room-based features like automatic grouping. Link rooms like this:
  1. Tap
  2. Tap “Settings”
  3. Tap “Rooms & Floors”.
  4. Tap the room you want to link.
  5. Select the matching Home Assistant/Homey room/area.
If you don’t link a room, you can still add accessories manually, but you’ll miss out on room-based features:
  • No automatic grouping when you add a light room accessory.
  • Sensors in that room won’t show up in Climate Monitoring.

Note on non-English properties

You can use Zendo in any language. We recommend using the same language for all rooms and accessories. If you expect non-English speaking guests, consider using English for all labels.
