Intro

Your zendō app can have multiple rooms across up to four floors. Please rename rooms to match your property and your spoken language.

Add, change or delete a floor

  1. Tap
    (Settings)
  2. Tap “Rooms & Floors”
  3. Tap “Add Floor” to add a new floor, or tap a floor name then “Edit Floor” to edit or delete.
Please note: deleting a floor also deletes all the accessories that have been linked to it. Proceed with caution.

Add, change or delete rooms

  1. Tap
    (Settings)
  2. Tap “Edit Floorplan”
To add a room:
  1. Tap the ”+” at the bottom of the screen and select “Room”
  2. Place the room on the floorplan
  3. Tap on the room to name it and save.
To edit or delete a room:
  1. Tap on the “i” icon for the room
  2. Tap “Edit Room”
  3. Either rename it or tap “Delete” to remove it.
Please link each zendō room to the matching Home Assistant room/area. This helps zendō understand what belongs in each room and powers room-based features like automatic grouping. Please link rooms like this:
  1. Tap
    (Settings)
  2. Tap “Rooms & Floors”.
  3. Tap the floor, then the room you want to link.
  4. Select the matching Home Assistant room/area.
If you don’t link a room, you can still add accessories manually, but you won’t see room-based options like automatic grouping when you add a light room accessory.

Note on non-English properties

You can use zendō in any language. We recommend using the same language for all rooms and accessories. If you expect non-English speaking guests, consider using English for all labels.
